FLIGHT AT COST TO PISA

Assisi, Italy

This holiday enables you not only to get to know the history of the foundation of the Franciscan Order by Francis of Assisi, and the Benedictine Order by Benedict from Nursia, but it also gives you a glimpse into their traditions and teachings.

Upon arrival by air in Pisa you join a modern air-conditioned coach and head to Tuscany, where you stay overnight in a good middle-class hotel in Chianciano thermal area, with half board (dinner, bed and breakfast). You continue your journey to Assisi. Situated at the foot of Monte Subiaso, this medieval town focuses even today on Holy Francesco and Holy Clara. A visit to the two churches with a local guide will give you an understanding of the amazing history of both saints. You drive on to Subiaco and check in at the Abbey San Benedetto for the next three nights, with half board . Next day you have a guided visit to the monastery where Benedict spent some years as a hermit. Later you are guided through the convent of Santa Scholastica, blessed by the sister of San Benedict, which is located underneath the Abbey.

Next morning you travel through the picturesque landscape of Lazio to Monte Cassino, where you have a guided tour through the Abbey. The last full day will be spent driving through the attractive Tuscany countryside, visiting Siena, and stopping near Montecatini Terme for dinner, bed and breakfast, before arriving at Pisa for your flight back to the UK.
